Description
In the next of our ‘Metadata management in the real world’ webinar series, we’ve invited speakers Arianna Caporali and Alina Danciu to showcase their insights on the progression of open science in France and its impact on data sharing within the social sciences and humanities (SSH) community.
Arianna Caporali – Ministère chargé de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche / French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR)
The French Ministry of Higher Education and Research’s recent report, How far have we got in implementing our open science policy? Results of the survey among higher education and research institutions highlights the advancement of open science in France over the last six years.
Arianna Caporali, from the Ministry, and one of the reports’ authors will take us through the background to the French policy before discussing the reports’ main findings, and key learnings about the role of higher education and research institutions in open science policy.
Alina Danciu – Centre de données socio-politiques / Socio-Political Data Center (CDSP), Sciences Po (CNRS)

Alina Danciu will explore the impact of the policy on data sharing and prospects for further progress. She will also focus on the call for projects for Réso 2024 (Research on Open Science Practices and Stakes) of the French National Research Agency, one of the first to be open to data managers as well as principal investigators.
